Combat Engineer

Explosive and Structural Experts

Trained by some of the most elite militry and corporate engineering corps in the world. Combat Engineers are trained in troop leading procedures, demolitions (conventional and expedient), mountaineering operations, aerial operations, airborne operations, foreign weapons, land navigation, waterborne operations and contingency threat removal. Sometimes including the use of the battle drills and specialized engineer techniques designed to allow military units to build fortifications as well as destroy key elements of the enemies' physical infrastructure.

Rarely seen in the mean streats on the city unless assigned to an occupying force, Combat Engineers can be invaluable to an Edgerunner team interested in hard core urban renual--through the use of high explosives. Perfect for building infiltrations and shoring up your defences against a Boostergang attack, the Combat Engineers have been a vital part of military victories since the Greeks sacked Troy with a giant straw horse.

  • Electronics
  • Weaponsmith
  • History

Strategic Tactics: Similar to a Solo's Combat Sense, 1/2 of the Strategic Tactics skill level is added to all combat initiatives. The character may also make Strategic Tactic skill rolls to try to "outguess" the opposition. Successful rolls would allow the GM to give the character hints as to what the enemy may be planning, ways out of situations, orbasic tactical advice (all of it is the GMs call). This skill is based on INT.

Engineering: An advanced form of Basic Tech dealing with large structures such as buildings, bridges, and subway systems. This skill allows the creation, repair, and study of those structures. +3 you can assist in repairs and planning. +5 You can design your own system. +8 You can pick apart systems for weak spots, "Set that demolition charge riiiight here..." +10 You can visualize structures based on their rubble, design entire city systems, and really kick-ass at SimCity(tm). This skill is based on TECH.
