The Ultimate Scoop Seekers

The Media. You can't live with them, you can't shoot them (legally). While technology has raced along at breakneck speeds, the Media industry simply incorporated it and kept going. Leading the wave of home entertainment and "You Are There" journalism, the modern media megacorporation employs thousands of reporters--ranging from tabloid hacks, to swarming paparazzi, to news anchors, to trained combat journalists and talk show hosts.

Be it a corporate cover-up in the Sea of Ganymede, a drug war in the deserts of Venus, a bombing on Mars, or a humanitarian piece from your local Taco Hut--Anywhere there is a story to be told to the entertainment-overloaded population, the Media will be there to tell it.

Credibility: Is the Reporter's ability to be believed by the general public. A sort of wide-scale Persuasion and Fast Talk skill, it is used to convince others that what you are saying is the truth and that they should act upon it. Credibility is applied to an average of the character's EMP and INT stats.

"Good evening. This is CBC News. First, we have news about the electronic transcendence group SCRATCH. Last week, the ISSP and all Sol Solar system police departments received the subpoena for the leader, Londes and began searching the homes of high-ranking members. They say that Londes, the leader, was once a doctor. Is such a thing possible? Find out on our 10:00 broadcast."

"Reporting from the scene of the explosion. The wreckage is being removed and the area cleaned up. People within a 2-mile radius of the crash site were soon overcome by the noxious fumes. A general panic ensued. Three hours after the accident, calm has returned. The police suspect either a toxic chemical, or a biological hazard. The area has been sealed off. No information at this point as to why the truck exploded. But police say the vehicle had been stolen earlier. They suspect this could be a case of biological terrorism. This is Samatha Copeland, live from the scene."
