Neo-Modern Street Gangs

Common street hood or machine-enhanced warriors on the verge of cyberpsychosis, Thugs are the terrifying menace hunting the dark streets of every city in the solar system. While most of the gangs are feral animals taking joy from the deaths of their fellow man, some have banded together to protect those that can not protect themselves.

Like the proto-gangs of the late 20th Century, the modern Thug gangs act as a sort of foster family to their members--both supporting them and occasionally controlling them. Some of the gangs even have a "theme", and will kill any who do not agree with their sometimes odd beliefs.

Note: While most Thug characters will be NPCs, this Roletype is available to players. The gangs that most PCs belong to are usually either some sort of protection gang or a corporate/syndicate sponsored organization. Be sure to work with the GM when designing a Thug character and the gang they belong to so that they fit into the campaign.

Rank: This skill reflects how high the Thug is in their respective pack-like gang. One half the Rank skill level number acts like a Assassin's Combat Sense, giving a bonus to initiative, while the other half is exactly the same as a Drifter's Family ability--allowing the Thug character to call in other gang members to help them. This skill is based on an average of the character's COOL and REF stats.

Russian Gang Boss

"You searching for something? There's nothing here. The only things are stale bread, a broken-down car, and whisky that tastes like gasoline. But you're the dealer, right? Where's the money? You see, there was info that there was gonna be some deal going down for Red-Eye. I thought of taking that cash off your hands..."

Twinkle Maria Murdock

"This isn't just about the sea rats. Humans, with their culture have escaped from the great system of nature and are committing crimes that cannot be amended. Those that don't realize this are what you could call "bugs" in the nature system. Us... or them...? Which one of us deserves punishment from Heaven? Soon, the time of judgment will arrive... Yes... soon..."
